Mugler has always been a brand that celebrates the power of the human body. From dramatic silhouettes to futuristic designs, the house has built its identity around confidence, strength and sensuality.
Now, Mugler is entering a new chapter with its first handbag collection under creative director Miguel Castro Freitas — bringing the brand’s iconic attitude into accessories.

The collection introduces two new handbag lines, Aurora and Lua, both inspired by Mugler’s signature approach to shape and structure. Instead of creating simple accessories, the designs feel more like sculptural objects — clean lines, strong curves and a sense of movement.
The Aurora bag features a smooth silhouette with an angular shoulder strap, while the Lua collection explores softer forms inspired by classic sculpture and portraiture.

For the campaign, Mugler chose a striking visual direction. Photographer Chris Lensz captured female bodybuilder Tatiana Horslaville alongside the handbags, creating images that connect strength, beauty and the human form.
The choice feels very Mugler. Rather than presenting handbags as simple fashion accessories, the campaign treats them as part of the body — an extension of personal expression and confidence.

What makes this launch interesting is that Mugler is not trying to follow the traditional handbag formula. The focus is less on logos and more on shape, emotion and attitude.
The collection feels like a natural continuation of Thierry Mugler’s original vision: fashion that celebrates individuality and turns the body into a form of art.
With Aurora and Lua, Mugler’s accessory world is only beginning. The handbags mark a new direction for the house — one that keeps its dramatic identity while exploring a more modern approach to everyday luxury.
